Support » Fixing WordPress » Managing and setting up a user generated blog – P2

  • We’re looking to set up a second blog, one that uses the p2 theme to generate content. We’d like to see posts allowing people to submit video urls or upload images. Much like the site buzzfeed works, or even like facebook.

I was wondering what method anyone here would recommend with regards of keeping a blog running and also having a secondary user generated blog.

Would it be better to have the two blogs seperate but as subdomains?

or have two blogs tied together somehow so that “recent comments” appear as one

or have all the content inside one blog?

Right now we’re imaging a problem with searching, where people can’t search inside our blog without running into the “noise” of user generated content.

We’d also like to reward a blog entry with moving it from the “user” section to the front of the site. Right now the only way we can imagine doing this is by running it inside a blog and making the index page default to a “front page” category we check off.

Any advice on the matter would be greatly appreciated.
