Support » Plugin: ManageWP Worker » manageWP worker plugin update not showing in managewp dashboard

Today I was notified by Wordfence that a number of my WordPress sites have an un-updated plugin: ManageWP Worker. So I went to the ManageWP Dashboard, but all the indicators were green for all my WordPress sites – not orange as is the case when a site needs a plugin updated.

Also, in updating ManageWP Worker to 4.2.25 on one of my sites, the update failed. I’ve never seen a plugin update fail. So I refreshed the installed plugin page and then the plugin appeared to have updated to 4.2.25 after all.

I’m concerned that ManageWP is not reporting the need to update its own plugin across my sites — while it is so wonderfully comprehensive in notifying me of all other plugins in need of updates.

    Hey there,

The showing of the update inside the wp-admin dashboard was kind of a mistake from our side since this was supposed to be a silent update.

The update itself doesn’t contain any major improvements, and many users won’t be affected by it, and that is why we decided not to show it inside your ManageWP account.

The good news is that the plugin will update itself after some period of time, so you needn’t worry about anything.

    Kind regards,

Ah, I see. I won’t worry about it then.

Thank you for your swift reply!

For the past few days the daily report I receive via email from ManageWP has notified me that there are a number of plugin updates pending, but the ManageWP dashboard says no updates. Looking at wp admin in the individual sites confirms that it is the worker plugin that needs updating.

Hiding worker plugins in the dashboard is just confusing when implemented this way – better show it, possibly with a notification that it will eventually update itself.

    Hi @trisager,

This should have been a silent update and like my colleague said before Worker will update itself after some period of time and the reason why you saw him in WP-admin area is that we forgot to hide it since this should have been a silent update.

However, this shouldn’t happen in future and there is nothing to worry about.

    Kindly,

Hey WPWorker just admit this is a bug like you say over on https://managewp.com/status
We get it. A permalink would be good.
