I’m using the latest version of StCR and just found that the “manager link” doesn’t work anymore. I’m using the link at the end of my comment forms to give users the possibility to manage their subscriptions. When I click on this link, there will be an error: Page does not exist.
I’m afraid, that this will also occur at other places, e.g. when trying to subcribe oder in email notifications.
Could you please check this and provide a solution? Thank you!

    Regards, Tooni

    Hi @tooni

    Can you try the following:

    1. Go to WP Admin > StCR > Management Page
    2. Set “Virtual management page” to “No” and save changes
    3. Go to WP admin > Pages > Add New and create a page called “Comment subscriptions”, the permalink should be comment-subscriptions
    4. As the content of that page just add [stcr_management_page]

Thank you for your quick response!

Before I try your suggestion, I would like to ask some questions:
    1. Do you consider your suggestion as a temporary hot fix, which might be unnessecary after a future version of the plugin or is this the intended new behaviour of the plugin?
    2. Should I modify all other occurencies of the former “manager link” to the new method?
    3. Will there still be some kind of security code when the new management page is called to ensure that users can only manage their own subsriptions?

Thank you for your advise, Tooni

    One additional question:

    4. Is is also nessecary to create a copy of page.php, name it subscripe.php and edit it according to your documentation?

    Hi @tooni

    1) It’s very likely that soon we’ll make that the main approach but it’ll create the page automatically on plugin activation. The virtual page approach can cause issues but a regular page approach works fine in all cases.

    2) No need for any changes other than the creation of that new page with the shortcode in the content.

    3) It’s still the same thing, the only difference is that instead of the theme creating a “virtual page” it’s a regular page. Functionality remains the same.

    4) No, that’s an older approach for fixing the issue, the new one I mentioned is much simpler and involves no change to code. We’ll most likely get rid of that old approach from the documentation because this new one has been working out great so far.

In the meantime I was able to activate the suggested modifications and as far as I can see, everything works okay now.

    Thank you for your help.

    Happy to hear that @tooni

    You’re welcome.

Ah, I found this after quite a lot of time figuring out why it did not work. Maybe you could add these instruction on the “management page”? (And remove the old instructions on how to manually create a management page) I think it could help a lot of people. 🙂
