Manage->Posts: “Search Posts” always returns “No posts found”

I set the permalinks to “custom” but the search still returned no results (and I know I have a post with the search text in it).

I found the settings page for permalinks confusing, too.

I had been using “Day and name … http://www.reeves-hall.net/2008/07/01/sample-post/” and changed it to “Custom … http://www.reeves-hall.net/2008/07/01/sample-post” as you suggested – no trailing slash, and making it in the format as the non-custom settings (i.e. with the preceeding http://www.reeves-hall.net/).

However, after I applied the settings a forward slash was prefixed to the address (“/http://www….).
