• I’m sure this has been asked a lot of times before but I have just spent an age searching forums/FAQS trying to find the answer and have failed dismally!

I am a new WP user. I have worked out how to get everything else to work but I cannot find out how to set my WP site to be the home page of my website.

Currently it is located at http://www.mysite.com/wordpress/

I want http://www.mysite.com to display the WP home page.

    Any help much appreciated!

I had an email response from someone which does not seem to show here advising me to ‘Read up on the differences of wordpress.com vs wordpress.org’

Thanks for the response but that has not really helped. 🙂

I have WordPress installed on a hosted server – my hosting company have an install option there which I just selected and it was auto installed for me.

So I have a domain name, I have hosting, I have WP installed.

I just need to know how to make WordPress to be the front page of the website.

    Hi juliaww

    Have you seen this page?

I think the “Using a pre-existing subdirectory install” section may be what you’re after.
