Support » Plugin: Taxonomy Images » Making the Taxonomy image an image that links to the taxonomy

    I have managed to get the taxonomy images to display in a custom post type that I’ve created using WP-Types and WP Views. But I end up with what you see here: http://alabamatrails.wpengine.com/trail/talmadge-butler-boardwalk-trail/. What I want is for the image to be the link. Best possible outcome: the image is the link that displays the alt tag when hovered over. Any ideas? I’m using shortcodes to display: [wpv-taxonomy-link][wpv-taxonomy-image]. And I added this to my functions.php file: add_shortcode(‘wpv-taxonomy-image’, ‘taximage’);
    function taximage($atts) {
    global $WP_Views, $wp_query;
    $term = $WP_Views ->get_current_taxonomy_term();
    $wp_query->queried_object = $term;
    $filtered = apply_filters( ‘taxonomy-images-queried-term-image’, ” );
    $wp_query->queried_object = wp_reset_query(); // restore the original wp_query
    return $filtered;
    }

  • Never was able to get this to work just the way I wanted. But the Types Plugin by WP-Types now has term meta built in. It allows you to do basically the same thing, plus more. You can create special fields for taxonomies. It seems to be working well.
