  • Resolved skromta

I’m trying out Photonic to see if can do what I want. Just to test that everything works I entered this

    [foton type='smugmug' view='album' nick_name='mostrom' album='m6L7Db' layout='square' caption='title-desc' thumb_size='Tiny' main_size='Largest' ]

but no photos are shown (I got the album id by using the helper) another try

    [foton type='smugmug' view='albums' nick_name='mostrom' filter='m6L7Db' layout='random']

but nothing is shown here either. A third try

    [foton type='smugmug' view='albums' nick_name='mostrom']

This one displays the albums. But I can’t figure out what I’m missing, any idea what it is?

What I want to do is two different things:

    1. Display the X most recent photos in album Y
    2. Display X random photos from album Z

Preferable, clicking on an image would take me to that photo on the smugmug site.

When I look directly through SmugMug’s API, I don’t see any album with the id m6L7Db. Take a look – if you look at the list of albums, where you have a link like /api/v2/album/mwJ967, the last part, i.e. mxJ967 corresponds to your album.

Is the album you are trying to pull private? In that case you might be able to see it, but I cannot see it without authentication. Correspondingly, other users cannot see it without authentication. The next version of the plugin will have “back-end authentication”, which will let you show photos that you are authorized to see. Currently for SmugMug the plugin only supports “front-end authentication”, where a user needs to have a SmugMug account to see photos that you have authorized them to see.

Well, that explains it. I was all my mistake – I had one folder with a similar name as the album and used the id of the folder. Sorry about that.
