• I want to give certain users the ability to edit their own private pages or posts, but not any other admin privileges on the site. I have installed Press Permit Core and Capabilities Manager Enhanced. I’ve created a new role called “Private Page Owner” and given it the capabilities: edit pages, edit posts, publish pages, and publish posts.

But after creating a page as site admin, I’m unable to assign ownership/authorship to a user that has the Private Page Owner role. The “change author” option only lets me change the author to a user who has full site admin privileges.

Do I need another Press Permit extension? How can I accomplish this?

The users query which WP uses for the author dropdown excludes users whose role has a user_level of zero. You can edit that level value using CME. It’s down near the bottom of the screen.
