• I am looking to create a locally hosted version of a website I help run using MAMP. I have set MAMP up and have got it running, but what’s the best and cheapest (hopefully free) way to create a clone of the site so I can test out css changes or php without them going live? Is there a better way to do what I’m trying to achieve?

  • Best method I know is to use the plugin Duplicator. It clones but at the same time also configures it to work locally based on the information you give it about where you’re moving to. I’m guessing it would also be great if you’re changing a domain name for a site or going back from localhost to the web. It was most effortless move to MAMP I ever came across.
