Making hover color stick to the same color while on drop down menu

I’m wondering if there’s a way when you’re on the access navbar (or any navbar, for that matter) that when you rollover the link and the drop down menu appears and you roll off the main nav link and start going through the child links that the main nav link stays the same color as on hover.

Here’s an example. Rollover the Calendar link and the text changes from white to yellow and the drop down appears, roll into the drop down and the Calendar text returns to white. But it should stay yellow since you’re in this area. Any way I can make this work?
