    Hello!

The standard header image is 1000 (w) x 288 pixels (h). That takes up a lot of vertical space. The image I’d like to use is 1000 x 67 pixels. Is there a way to go into the css editor and change that, so I don’t push my content so far down the page with unnecessary white space (added to the image to fit the fixed size)?

    Thanks!

-Try using Firefox with the Firebug add-on for this kind of CSS work. http://getfirebug.com/

Thanks. But, I’m not sure what that means. I use Firefox. But, I’m not sure what I’d do with Firebug. Why do I need another editor for WordPress? Thanks!

Firebug is not an editor — it’s a really useful tool for figuring out what CSS needs to be edited to change the layout. If you post a link to your site, someone might help you more specifically. But it’s generally beyond these forums to do custom CSS work for you. Read the Codex on CSS before you do anything else.
