# Making Customer Address Fields Optional/Required

 * A basic WordPress configuration issue…..
 * When a customer creates an Account within a WordPress website they are asked 
   to enter their Billing and Shipping addresses, In practice such fields as Company
   Name and Flat, Suite etc are not relevant.
 * In my setup they are coming up as Required. How do I make these Optional?
 * I am sure there is a very simple solution to this but I cannot find it!

   You can turn
   these off from the theme customizer settings. For some reason, this page is often
   hidden in [FSE themes](https://fullsiteediting.com/themes/), which is likely 
   why it was hard to find.
 * To access it, go to `yourwebsite.com/wp-admin/customize.php`, then navigate to
   WooCommerce > Checkout.

 * If you’re using Checkout block, you can edit them directly from the Checkout 
   editor page by going to Pages -> Checkout and selecting the address block and
   disabling them.
