• I finally managed to index my site, but I’m a little stuck here…

I’m not an expert so here goes.

Indexed the site, and I would like to have the search option in a seperate page. The website I installed wordpress on is a mix of good ol’ fashioned php/html, with a few blogs integrated in the site.

I understood that the search function can do both the blogs and the rest of the site.

But how do I include it on a search page ?
I would like to make it a bit like the contact page on my website, style wise.

oh, the search function is on a seperate wordpress installation btw, just in case I would need to make it appear as a blog… a bit clueless on this one !

    thanks in advance !

This plugin will index across a whole domain even if parts of it aren’t on WordPress, but it’s a bit more tricky to include the search results outside of a WordPress page.

Check out the ‘Search’ area of http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/search-engine/other_notes/ for details on how you can custom implement, but by default this plugin will take over the ‘default’ search page on your WP install, which should make it easy for you.

    Hi Scott,

I am a total newbie to all this, so apologies in advance.

I would like a “search” facility on my site so that visitors can look for images of “elephant” for example.

I have added your plug in, and indexed my site, however, i can’t get a “search” function to appear on the site.

Have i totally misunderstood the function of your plug in? If not can you help me?

    Many thanks
    Vicki
