Make topics private — ?

Can a private group be subscribed to a TOPIC instead of an entire forum?

Also, there was a bug from about 8 months ago where if a user had a direct link to a topic that it could be seen; you responded with an update, the person responded back that the update didn’t help, then you said you worked with him directly to solve it. But you then closed the thread and did not confirm if it was solved.

I assume it is, but it’s always good to get that confirmation.

So, my two questions:
1.) can a private group be subscribed to a TOPIC instead of having an entire forum…?
2.) is the security/privacy vulnerability fixed where someone would have access to a topic if they had the direct link, even if they were not given permission inside your plugin to view it?
