make the modal menu a side menu on larger viewports
-
Hi Anders,
I was wondering what would be the best method to have the Menu stay open and visible, just like a side-nav when there is enough room, say (on viewportsizes 1200px and up) and have the nav function “as is” on the three smaller viewports?
From an aestetic point of view Eksell is beautiful “as is” right now but I find myself get annoyed when I need to click so much to get an overview of the site’s contents.
I would be glad if you could point me in the right direction… thanks in advance

okay, I just saw your answer to a similar question. Apparently this would be too big a change. https://wordpress.org/support/topic/fixed-sidebar-17/
How could I instead use the social menu location do display icons for calendar and contact? That would help since in Germany it is obligatory to have the contact info to the site’s owner one click away on every page. Thanks
by the way, thank you very much, the theme is lovely and very flexible. I am getting into the groove of the Gutenberg-Way to use WordPress, thanks to it.
Hi @entlein,
There’s only a limited set of icons included in the theme – to add more (like a calendar icon), you’d need to add them through a child theme by filtering the list of included icons. There is an email icon though, which is used when you include a email link in the social menu (formatted
mailto:name@domain.com).Glad you like it!

Should I refer to the wordpress themes field guide
here
“Adding icons in Twenty Twenty”?
I would appreciate if you could point me to the right direction.Hi @entlein,
Yeah, the social menu code in Eksell is based on the solution in Twenty Twenty, so it would be very similar. You would need to change the filter names to the ones used in Eksell, though. You can find the names of the filters in the
inc/classes/class-eksell-svg-icons.phpfile in the theme folder.— Anders
