Make Pictures Go Ascending In Image Gallery

    Hi, before I used to be able to make the pictures go in ascending order by name of the pictures in my image gallery. Now I cannot find the option, it’s just not there anymore. I want the pictures to be in alphabetical order by name, and there are literally hundreds of pictures separated in A-F, G-L, etc. Each page had it’s own gallery and each gallery went in ascending alphabetical order by name. But now that option is not there. Please tell me the html code or some magical way to make the pictures sort themselves into ascending alphabetical by picture name order once again in galleries. Thanks

    Is my wordpress broken? It there an option for ascending/descending for everyone else? Or was it taken away? Why would you take away an option to order the galleries by the names of the pictures?

    What are you using for the galleries? What theme are you using? A link to your site would also be relevant.

    I’ve searched google for the answer for the last 2 hours. There are several outdated posts telling you how to do it, so I wasn’t hallucinating that I could order it in ascending/descending by title of images. But that was an older version of wordpress. Now there is no option for ascending/descending. I saw that there was gallery sort_order=”something_something_ASC” but that didn’t put it alphabetical order either. Is there a gallery sort_order command that will put it in alphabetical order ascending? Anybody have an answer to this please?

    Sorry, I’m using the regular wordpress image gallery when you do a new post, I’m using Simplish By Utopian.net Labs, K. Pitt, J. Hardy Version 2.6 as the theme, and http://www.black-ogre.com/blackogreonline/?page_id=2021

    As you can see there is a massive amount of images, and I don’t want to have to move them all by hand each time I add something (it also doesn’t help that you can’t see the titles of the pictures on that reorder list.) Is there better image gallery plugin I can use that will automatically put them in alphabetical order, and then when I add new pictures to it it will resort everything so it’s kept in alphabetical order? Thanks!

    it seems the to do this the shortcode is
    [gallery orderby="title" ids="...."]
    on the text side of the post, for anyone else having this problem.

    Only took 4 hours of searching, thanks for no help whatsoever everybody. Pfff
