Make page permalinks end in .html (5 posts)

We're migrating about 2000 HTML pages to WP...by hand...

I see no solution in the fora to the question of how to get WP's Page (not Post) permalinks ending in .html - we want the old physcial pages to retain their URL when they go into WP

I know this has no bearing on SEO whether an URL ends in / or .html - it's simply so I don't have to get a very big set of permanent redirects going on in .htaccess.

    Solution or hack, please?

It's not pretty, but did you find this one? http://wordpress.org/support/topic/75149?replies=9#post-396586

Thank you, I did. Clunky due to the fact it doesn't work 100% according to alcheme's post in that thread also it hacks core code rather than a more eloquent mod_rewrite-type solution.

The ability to append a file extension to pages as one can with posts would be super.

It would be great if there were a plugin that did this!
