Make more than ID for Client Users

I’m working with multiple roles for my website but something’s not right. When I have upstream client user, author, projects page works so well but I don’t get the author permissions as the admin menu stays the same with only the profile tab, and vice versa.
So, I thought maybe if I make many roles able to be a client user without having only upstream client user maybe solve the issue I’m having but I don’t know how to do this
