• Never use this plugin as the security settings make my main site and all sub-domain sites down and even after uninstallation / removal of everything and start to install a new WP, it doesn’t work anymore

Hi @ysc711 , thanks for sharing your feedback.

The HTTP Headers plugin can be very helpful for improving security and performance, but – as with any tool that changes server configuration – it can also cause issues if settings are applied incorrectly. That’s why it’s important to understand how headers work before making changes.

    To clarify:

    • The plugin only modifies your .htaccess file. It does not touch the WordPress core.
    • When you uninstall the plugin, it removes all entries it added from .htaccess. There is no need to reinstall WordPress – restoring or editing .htaccess is enough to bring a site back.
    • If you’re not familiar with HTTP headers or server directives, I recommend learning a bit more about the topic before applying strict security rules.

I’m always happy to help if something goes wrong – feel free to open a support topic next time before giving up.

    Hello @zinoui ,

Thank you for your reply. We later find out the domain and the DNS record are removed from CloudFlare, that causes all main and sub-domain sites down. We haven’t removed the domain from CloudFlare ourselves. We note the CDN of LiteSpeed Cache allowed us to provide CloudFlare login via API, but we cannot remember if we did provide such login credentials before. We have run multiple sites / stores in the same hosting company, and only one blog site with HTTP Headers installed and configured, then it was down. Luckily we have backup at another hosting company and we used BackupBliss to restore everything to the affected site of original hosting company in an hour. We are not sure if some security settings block the connection of Cloudflare and if Cloudflare cannot connect to the site, it will remove the domain and the DNS record accordingly. It is just our guess. Grateful for your advice if you have any thought. Thank you very much.

    Best Regards,
    ysc711
