    It doesn’t make an option, but when the plugin is active, when going into ‘insert media’ the ‘upload files’ tab is active by default, and deactivating the plugin restores the default behaviour making the ‘media library’ tab active.

    Almost immediately after I created the plugin, I discovered that you can actually add an image to the media library by dragging it straight into the media library without needing to select the ‘insert media’ tab. Maybe the plugin makes it a little more intuitive, although with it active you will need an extra click if the image you need to add to your post already exists in the media library.
