• Hello,

WordPress is really amazing project I use for many website. I would like to know if it’s possible and interesting to enable or disable all features from kernel.

Pages, Articles, Comments, Extensions, etc.. composed the kernel and maybe if we disable features WordPress become more flexible and quick ?

Maybe it’s not a the best ideas but why not ?

    Thanks !

WordPress is already highly modular in nature through use of plugins, however it’s still at it’s heart a blogging system/CMS there have been projects in the past to just create a very small skeleton. The most successful of which is BackPress though its not a particularly active project.

Why not? At a guess it would lead to the majority of users setting everything and leading to more support topics. 😉

Access to those options really are a good candidate for a plugin. Recently I came across this plugin that does let you get access to many default settings in the WordPress options.

There are others but that one might help.

Edit: The plugin is just for those options not features such as comments, posts, etc. *Drinks more coffee*
