# Make dropdown, submenu transparent

 * At the moment the dropdown box is white which covers images I have on the page.
   I want the images central but my dropdown menu covers some of the image. I would
   like to make the dropbown box transparent but keeping the page banes/ text clear.
   I can not find the answer elsewhere. I am using a Twenty Thirteen child theme.

 *     ```
       .styles .nav-menu .sub-menu {
           opacity: .5;
       }
       ```

 * Many thanks it worked. Have you any idea how I can now make the text more solid
   as the opacity effects the text making it a bit too light to read.
