• The largest number of “hits” in my WP statistics come from the IP of the server hosting my blog! I don’t think this can be fixed, since a Google search finds that there is no way to exclude a specific IP from the WP statistics. But I wanted to note that including such “hits” makes the statistics very unhelpful and it would be nice to have such hits excluded.

  • There must be a proxy & protection service integrated with your server hosting plan
    using cloudflare also causes the issue sometimes

    I run my own server (an AWS EC2 instance). No proxy service unless AWS does something I’m not aware of. I do not use Cloudflare.

    This is not a WordPress issue, nonetheless. I would run through the AWS docs.
