Major problems with a theme used for client

    Hello,

    I recently built a site for for a client using the Nocturnal theme: http://themeforest.net/item/nocturnal-premier-audio-wp-theme-/full_screen_preview/621573

    The client site is: http://www.houseofhearts.org
    (so you can see how it is appearing now)

    When I handed over the site to the client everything was working fine. I showed him how to upload photos and how to do some simple basics. He got back to me a few weeks later stating the site was not working properly. The main image slider has disappeared, the excerpt area to the top right of the main image is gone as well. We have restored from backups to the date I handed the site over and initially it returns to how I handed the site over but as soon as we refresh it returns to what you see now. I had music on the side like in the demo but removed it to see if that works to no avail. I also tried to change the dates of the posts to make another image the main image on the site and it doesn’t work.

    Can anyone provide some insight here? I am in quite a jam and don’t know what else to do. I have contacted the developer who is rather unhelpful and seems to provide no solutions. Thanks in advance and hope to hear from some of you soon.

    Check to see if you have the latest version, on the preview there is a different gallery slider than your website, so there might be an updated theme.

    The side slider is working in IE, until you click an image, so you might have to update the permalinks, the photo page worked fine for me IE9 but not in IE7

    Can you elaborate in what you mean IE? I know the mini slider is working but the main slider disappeared? There used to be arrows, as seen in the demo, and an excerpt area for the information that is now being moved below? There is no new version of the theme available.

    As you purchased your Theme from ThemeForest, which is a commercial Theme market and which provides its own commercial support, you should consult the support offerings of ThemeForest for specific support for this Theme.

    IE = Internet Explorer
    The photo slider worked the first time I visted but not the second.

    The validator is not getting past 4 errors and giving up, somenthing between the <head></head> tags, so it does looks like something in the head section, looking I would start with de-activating the ecommerce plugin, and revalidate until you fix the validation.

    I have contacted the creator of the theme and he doesn’t seem to provide much support. Its a total bummer.

    Please bear with me as I am pretty new to building websites. What validator are you using and this software provides insight to where the problem is? Seems like a good place to start looking. I have other more experience developers helping me out and they seem to be stumped as well. I will try to start subtracting plugins as well but its odd that the sit was working great when I handed it over and for week and suddenly the functionality of the template seems to have disappeared? If the site had gone haywire while I was adding plugins there would more of an indication there.

    Any other suggestions are welcome. Thanks for the responses!
