# Major Oops! Changed WP URL

 * Hi all,
 * I’m relatively new to WP. The hosting company installed WP in a folder so that
   the URL is domain.com/wordpress/.
 * In trying to rectify this, I stupidly edited the directory where WP was located
   under General Settings > WordPress address (URL). Now I can’t login. The host
   has reinstalled WP, but it did not fix the problem. When I go to the login page
   at domain.com/wordpress/wp-login.php and login, it sends me to domain.com/wp-
   login.php which does not exist.
 * Please help. It’s been a long day, and I would greatly appreciate some advice.

 * have you tried:
 * -double checking your [wp-config.php](http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php)
   file settings for the database and host names?
 * – accessing your WordPress database via phpMyAdmin and to check if the `siteurl`
   and `home` values are correct.
 * ALWAYS BACKUP YOUR DB BEFORE TOUCHING IT.
