    Ok so here’s the deal.

    1. Since the time I have upgraded to 3.5.1, I have got the “Add Media” option instead of the “Upload/Insert”. Now this is causing some trouble as now the gallery option itself is missing. I do get “Create Gallery” option from Add Media but I cant see the gallery itself. Earlier it was possible as if I uploaded multiple files, it could also edit individual image to add a Youtube or a vimeo link too. Now I cant

    2. Drag and Drop feature in the new gallery doest work. Somehow I am unable to sort the images in any order (apart from the option of ‘reverse order’) for me to insert gallery into the images.

Solutions tried which didnt work for me:
    Deactivating plugins
    Reinstalling theme

Can anyone please help! Its creating major trouble for me 🙁

    Thanks!

That’s correct. This was changed in WordPress 3.5.

but I cant see the gallery itself

You can’t see what gallery? There was never an option to view a gallery in WordPress – only an option to view the images attached to that particular Page or Post. In WordPress 3.5, a distinction was made between images attached to a post/page and galleries – allowing people to create galleries on the fly with any images in their Media Library. As a result, images attached to a post/page no longer automatically constitute a gallery.

it could also edit individual image to add a Youtube or a vimeo link too. Now I cant

The ability to edit images – including ising them as custom links – is still present. See the Custom Url option in the Link dropdown when you select an image to edit before inserting it.

Drag and Drop feature in the new gallery doest work.

It works fine for me. Are you actually trying to mover the thumbnails in the new created gallery?

    Hi Esmi

    thanks for the reply.
I understood your point about gallery never being present.
However, the drag and drop feature isnt working making it really difficult /impossible for me to make images appear in a set order in the theme.

Yes I am trying to move the thumbnails in the edit gallery option.

    What do I do?

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

The drag and drop feature is working fine in the default theme of wordpress. Is it an issue with the theme or plugin?

    I have deactivated them all

That sounds like a theme issue.

    Contact the theme author.
