 * I appreciate the Devs effort to create a “free” Membership plugin. However..,
   plugin seems basic and perhaps may work for some but… as mentioned by other users
   there’s a **Major Flaw** in the basic functionality.
    For **NON **or **Logged-
   Out** members when you click on any **Protected Category link/menu item** in
   the front end, **instead **of getting a message that the content is for **Members
   Only** and direct you to **sign up or other page**, you get an **error like**
   page stating-
 * >  Content not found
   > The content you are looking for could not be found.
 * If most of your Categories are **member only** your potential customer would
   never be able to see that the content on your site is restricted to members only(
   or see that there’s any content- for that matter) and will most likely be gone
   forever in less than 3 seconds. For you(the service provider) it is proven that
   you’re better-off the potential customer never land on your page **THAN **thinking
   your site is **empty or faulty**.
    I really doubt that someone will ever see
   the messages you setup in advanced settings if you protect your content by category…
   The magnitude of the bug is why I deduct 3 stars right away. It is simply unacceptable.
   Just my 2c.

 * I assume OP isn’t using PMPro anymore, but for others who stumble upon this.
 * There is a setting on the advanced tab of the PMPro settings to “Filter searches
   and archives?” If this is set to “Yes” and your category has only members-only
   content in it, when someone visits the category archive page it will look like
   there is no content there and you’ll see the default WP “Content not found” message.
 * To avoid this:
    * Change that filter to “No”. (And maybe also change the “Show
   Excerpts to Non-Members?” option to “Yes”) * Or make sure there is some public
   content in your categories. * Or update your theme to account for categories
   with no posts found.
 * We don’t typically do support on the reviews here. If you need support with Paid
   Memberships Pro, the fastest way is to become a PMPro Member and post in our
   member forums: [http://www.paidmembershipspro.com/pricing/](http://www.paidmembershipspro.com/pricing/)
 * When I’m not spending hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars developing open
   source software and giving it away for free, I answer as much of the threads
   in the free wordpress.org forums as I can. You can post there: [http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/paid-memberships-pro](http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/paid-memberships-pro)
 * Sometimes other members of the community will answer your questions there. Sometimes,
   people I effectively pay $1-$10 per thread will answer your questions there.
   But if you can afford it, posting to the members forums is your best bet and
   we appreciate the people who do that.
