    Hello!
I recently upgraded to latest WP version, and am guessing its the reason why my maintenance mode plug in isn’t quite working right anymore. When I am in my WP dashboard, with the plug-in disabled and/or de-activated, I still see my website URL in maintanence mode. But if I open a new browser (i used chrome and IE) and go to my website directly it works, I can see the website. Please advise as this is preventing me from working on my site behind the scenes. It’s stuck in maintenance mode via my dashboard.
I browsed through previously posted topics related to this – and already tried clearing out all my cashes, I de-activated plug in and used a different plug in to test, but it doesn’t change anything, I still see the easy pie maintenance mode screen when I am in my WP dashboard.
    thanks!

Hi is this only happening on a single type of browser or are you saying that when you are logged in it’s happening?

It definitely sounds like caching at some level (when a plugin is disabled WordPress doesn’t include it in the processing loop).

Also could you elaborate on the symptoms – I’m a bit confused by the description of the problem. You had indicated you can’t access the dashboard but also indicated that you were able to enable or install a new plugin which would have required access to the admin page…Is some of the admin is working and other part isn’t or have I misinterpreted?

Hi Bob – sorry for not being clear.
I have de-activated the plug in, but my website still shows up in maintenance mode when I try to view my website from within my WP dashboard. It appears to redirect me out of my WP dashboard to the site as opposed to staying in my WP dashboard to view it (does that make sense?). However when I try to view my website directly (by opening a new browser, and typing in the website URL) the maintenance mode is off and I can see my website.
So the issue is that I am not able to view my website from within my WP dashboard in order to make changes etc, because all i see is the maintanance mode screen when i try to view the site.
Do you think I should try deleting the plug in?

    Thanks!!!

Yeah that is very strange indeed. If you’ve disabled it, it doesn’t seem like it could affect things but just to eliminate that possibility sure go ahead and delete the ‘easy-pie-maintenance-mode’ directory within your plugins directory from your CPanel or FTP (and only ‘easy-pie-maintenance-mode’ 🙂

Please let me know how things turn out.
