Support » Networking WordPress » Main site in multisite adopted header and footer of subsite

  • I am having a backup restored, but I’m worried I will encounter this multisite problem again. I was working on CSS in a subsite, when I noticed all the code looked as though it belonged to the main site. When I went to preview the site, I had found that my main site now had the header and footer of the subsite. I am using a theme that uses a modified visual composer to construct the sites. There was no way for me to switch headers and footers through the CSS alone. Most of the main site looked OK except for the front page where some of the fonts became very large. I realize that all the sites share the same database, but I’ve never had anything like this happen before. The only mitigating factor I could think of is that I loaded up a few different plugins today including Broadcast and an RSS importer. Could this be a virus? Or should I worry that my sites are susceptible to importing another sites headers and footers because there might be something wrong with the code?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Your theme is probably not compatible with wordpress multisite. Ask the theme author if it was tested on multiple subsites of a multisite.
