• After uploading my WordPress to 4.8.2 the main menu is not visible anymore. When I go to the ‘edit menu’ option on my dashboard, I can edit the menu, but there is no box behind ‘show location’ that I can check.

    I also tried creating a new menu, but that was also not visible on my website.

    Before I did the update, the menu was visible on my website and I didn’t change anything in the settings.

    Wow! That must very be frustrating. I’m sorry that happened. It’s probably an issue with your RT-Myriad theme, but first let’s rule out plugin conflicts. Please deactivate all of your plugins and see if the menu returns. If it does, reactivate your plugins one by one until the menu disappears again. The last activated plugin will be the culprit. You should then take up the issue with that plugin’s developer.

    If no menu appears with all plugins deactivated, then there is an issue with your theme. Unfortunately, you are using a commercial theme which we cannot support in these forums. We cannot access the source code and have no idea what the theme is doing. Please take up your issue with the your theme’s vendor. They should be happy to help one of their customers.

    I know it seems like it’s a problem of WP core because all was fine before the update. Many thousands of themes have been working just fine with 4.8.2. Developers are offered access to pre-release versions of every WP update and the onus is upon theme developers to ensure their themes are compatible with the upcoming releases, so it is indeed the theme developers that need to address your problem. I hope you are able to resolve this quickly with them. Best of luck to you!

    Thank you for your reply! I tried deactivating the plugin’s, but the menu didn’t appear. I will contact the theme developers and hope they can help me with the issue.
