  • Hi
I recently installed a new adblocker on my computer (Adblocker for Chrome – no Ads) and when I went on my onw website mailpoet had disappeared.

It took me a little while until I had the idea the adblocker could be causing this and spwitched it off. Duely the subscriber box re-appeared.

Now, I don`t think it is in anybodys interest that this will happen to more people. Is there something the mailpoet team can do that mailpoet will not be mistaken for an advert and blocked in the future?

    • Hi @nodvnovnono,

Unfortunately, I’m afraid it was just a coincidence and it was something else that was conflicting with your MailPoet’s subscription form.

We’ve tested with AdBlock, Ublock Origin, and Privacy Badger and could not replicate this issue with any of them.

Were you using the MailPoet widget?

Definitely not a co-incidence. I use mailpoet on three websites. On all three the subscription box (and the social media buttons as well but that is a different plugin) had disappeared. After removing the adblocker, the mail poet subscriber box (and the social media buttons) were immediately visible again.

Also, while my own subscription box was invisible I noticed that I was still getting subscribers. On my husbands PC the subscription was also visible. So it was clear it had something to do wiht my computer. This is how we figured out that it was the adblocker.

I checked: the adblocker is called

      adblocker for Chrome – noAds
      by: adblocker.

I just installed it again and the same thing happened. Mail poet and social media buttons gone!

Please do something about this because this is the top adblocker offered in the chrome webstore, so I am sure a lot of people are using it.
