MailPoet – Registration takes place without activation

Subscriber is marked as “registered” although he has not yet activated the registration link.

And I cannot make a selection (yes or no) under “Settings -> registration confirmation”.
It says: “A registration confirmation is mandatory when using the MailPoet Sending Service”.
But why is the subscriber listed as “registered” even though he has not yet clicked on the activation link?
