    Hi,

The mailing list widget I have as a footer on my home page stopped working some time ago (although it took me a while to notice). When I try to link the widget to a mailing list the dropdown menu doesn’t show me any options. Can anyone help?

    Hi @stefconnermusic,

Do you mean the MailChimp popup that you created with Jetpack? I’m seeing that here: https://d.pr/i/pym5Ej

Or should there be a Jetpack Subscriptions widget in your footer?

Have you tried re-adding the widget? And what browser are you using?

Hi Jen! Thank you so so much for responding. I’m going nuts trying to figure this out.

No, the popup was just something I put in place whilst trying to figure out how to get my footer widget back.

There should indeed be a Jetpack Subscriptions widget in the footer (it’s not there right now because I was in the process of trying to replace it with a URL for a signup page).

I’ve re-added the widget over and over. I’m using Chrome. I’m so grateful for your help!

    Hey again, Stef.

It looks like your Subscriptions option may have been disabled. Head to your Jetpack → Settings → Discussion settings and make sure it is toggled on. Here’s our documentation on this:

    https://jetpack.com/support/subscriptions/

Let us know if that does the trick. If not, we’ll keep working on it.

    Thanks again Jen,

I’ve realised the problem (and that I’ve posted this in the wrong place – so sorry!). I think at some point I was using a Jetpack Mailing List widget, but actually the one that stopped working was a Mailchimp one that has been discontinued. I don’t think Jetpack has a widget that I can use for this (not sure how the popup one works, but I don’t see how it would function in a footer). It seems people only want popups nowadays, but as a user I find them so off-putting I just leave websites. Maybe it’s just me! Thanks again for your help and sorry to post in the wrong forum!

@stefconnermusic – no apologies necessary! We’re glad you were able to sort out the problem 🙂

Let us know if we can help with anything related to the Jetpack plugin in the future.
