    The Mailchimp top bar does not refer the user to my sign up form (established on Mailchimp). So, although a user may try to enter their email address, they are never added to my list, and never signed up. How can I resolve this issue?

    Hey @veggienovelist,

    Can you please let us know if you have enabled “Double Opt-in” in the settings of “MailChimp Top Bar”? Also, can you please go to the “MailChimp for WP > Others” page and let us know if any errors are logged in there?

    (The email address referred to in the log is not displayed on my Mailchimp email list, so they’re not a member.)

    Strange error! Are you still having this issue on the latest version of the plugin?

    Can you test with another email, do you get the same error or is it specific to this 1 email?

    So my problem seems to have changed slightly. Subscribers are able to sign up now, but the process is pretty disorganized. They type their email into the top bar and subscribe. The top bar doesn’t give them any notification of being signed up(it just leaves them on the same page), but from there it does send them a sign up email. If they confirm sign up on the email, they are then enrolled(oddly, the confirmation email then brings them to a page which allows them to either add additional emails, or go directly to my site).

    I designed a sign up form on mail chimp, but for some reason they’re not redirected to this form from the top bar. Do you have any suggestions for how I can:
    – link the top bar to my sign up form?
    – remove the peculiar email it sends out to confirm?

    Hello,

    Please note that the signup form you created in your MailChimp.com account work independently of our plugin. There is no connection between the 2. User’s use our plugin as they do not wish to use the forms created in MailChimp.com.

    In short, the “Top Bar” won’t link to your signup form on MailChimp.com. If you want this feature, you can simply use a custom box with a link to display on your website and when a user clicks on it, it can take them to your form hosted on MailChimp.com.

    The email is sent from MailChimp.com and we cannot control it. However, if you disable “Double Opt-in” then the email won’t be sent to the user.
