    I am in a terrible bind, I installed a theme, that installed your plug in Easy Forms

    It has a pre set List , as the only option for MailChimp List option, the pull down menu is empty

    Brand new install of API from MailChimp, and states it is Connected

    I can create a new list, within the theme, i take it I leave the Shortcode as is

    How can i get the API to insert my list ?

    I did clear the API Cache as well

    Site launch is pending fixing this issues,

    Can any one help us?

    I think you emailed us yesterday, is that correct? I replied to that email in length.

    I will paste the relevant part of my reply here.

    My assumption is that your site is being blocked by Mailchimp’s spam service Akamai. Did Mailchimp mention this at all? This issue happens a lot with websites on shared hosting environments and does not mean that you or anyone related to your website was responsible for being blocked. It typically means that someone else who once had your IP address was responsible.

    Also, I have no idea how your theme works and that might be the problem. Is our plugin installed on your site (v6.5.1) or is it being added via your theme?

    Akamai. No Mailchimp did not mention this at all,yes this is a shared hosting site

    Yes, it was bundled with a theme called Vigmag Theme

    Predefined with one list, working

    Should I delete it,

    Should I delete and reinstall your plug in ?

    I take it that when you do integrate a new list, it auto created the shortcode?

    Hello,

    You shouldn’t be able to pre-define any lists with our plugin – that’s what is confusing me and that’s why I think the theme may have a hacked up version. If you’d like to use our plugin, I would advise removing any theme references to it and installing it via the WordPress.org plugins repo (i.e. install the plugin like anyone else would).

    Also, if you’d like us to check if your site is being blocked by Akamai, please email us. We have a way of doing this but it requires custom code.

    Understood, i need the theme,

    So can I simply uninstall your plugin, and reinstall from WP.org

    Will this remove the theme references?and still allow me to use it within this theme?

    I will check on Mailchimp and Akamai, if blocked, Mailchimp will not Unblock?

    Hi Richard,

    Mailchimp can’t unblock you from Akamai – they will tell you to get a new IP Address from your hosting company.

    I have no idea how your theme is set up so I don’t know how it is referencing our plugin… Are you on version 6.5.1? Is our plugin listed in your plugins tab (on your Admin dashboard)?

    more hour on the chat line with Mailchimp

    HEre is the outcome come

    They keep asking me why I am using Easy Form
    pushing me to use theirs

    Yes. the Use Akamai. but have no control over who and what is blocked

    They could not confirm I am blocked

    The API is definitely NOT delivering

    Wanted to do a curl test to see if I am blocked

    Then they suggested I change my IP address with my ISP

    I am lost, would changing the IP make any difference to anything at all

    If you are indeed being blocked by Akamai then changing your IP will fix the problem.

    If you want to get your website launched, maybe it would be best to use the Mailchimp hosted form for now and we can troubleshoot this issue post-launch.

    As I said, I don’t know how your theme is setup so it’s difficult for me to debug this. I also don’t know of any themes that come with our plugin installed.

    I took your advice and ordered a new IP address. I also set up a horrible form with Mailchimp Direct

    I let you know if the IP switched worked
