 * I have the option set to mail me whenever someone comments, I have my email set
in General configuration, but whenever someone posts I don’t get mailed, what’s
   wrong ?
 * Also, in wordpress search [http://pt-br.search.wordpress.com/?q=example&t=post](http://pt-br.search.wordpress.com/?q=example&t=post)
I didn’t find my posts, is that because as it’s hosted in my server there is
no connection linking us ? So even though I have 99999 comments I won’t be in
the list of popular posts ? There should be a way to make the search look for
   the own-hosted blogs as well.

 * This forum supports installs of WordPress, but not those hosted on WordPress.
   com
From what you have said it makes me think you are hosted there? in which
case they have their own support forums.

 * I don’t know what made you think that mate, I said clearly “is that because as
it’s hosted in my server”, I meant it’s hosted in my own server, and I wondered
if even if it’s hosted in my own server, could I find a way to get status when
my posts are popular ? Like in those most popular posts in wordpress index. But
I guess the answer is no.
 * But that was just the superficial stuff, I am dying to know why I’m not getting
any mail notification, that’s what actually matters in this thread.
 * And again, yes, I am running wordpress on my own server, I’m in the right place.

 * Yeah sorry, must have missed that bit 😉
 * The search you link to searches the blogs on WordPress.com I believe…
 * Did you get any notification of comments at all? have you checked your spam bin(
   just in case…)

 * I get no notification of comments at all, and I have just checked my spam folder
in gmail and the mail-notifications aren’t there.

 * check your error logs to see if anything shows up.
 * try something else that sends out an email, like the lost password etc. (to test
   that php mail actually works)

 * In Lost Password, when I type my email there, it says it’s not registered o.O
but it is configured in General section.
 * Then I typed username and it recognized, but, returned an internal error page
 * “Internal Server Error
 * The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to
   complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator to inform of
the time the error occurred and of anything you might have done that may have
   caused the error.
 * More information about this error may be available in the server error log.”
 * About the logs, if you mean a log wordpress keeps you’d have to tell me where
it is, but if you mean my server logs, I didn’t find anything interesting there,
besides it saying I got a 500 error in lost password action. I looked for “mail”
in the search function of my text editor and found nothing. I mean, I found the
user’s who commented email’s, but that was all.
 * I am using a different username than I used in wordpress, hope that’s not a problem.

 * I had a different email when I set it up, the first one was recognized by Lost
Password page (even though results later in internal error), the one I changed
   to isn’t recognized.
 * ERROR: There is no user registered with that email address.
 * I changed it exactly because it wasn’t working, so I thought changing the email
   to another one would fix.

 * yes I meant the server error log.
 * OK, have you ever received an email from your WordPress installation? Sounds
like you haven’t, so it would be worth contacting your webhost and asking them
if php mail is correctly setup on your server.
 * Oh and please don’t bump threads.

 * Hi there,
 * I’ve a similar problem. All mail notifications for my WordPress suddenly stopped
about two weeks ago. There are several contributors/editors associated with our
blogsite and the mail notifications stopped for all of them at the same time.
I have tried password re-sets and adding new users, and no emails were received
   there either.
 * Any help or suggestions gratefully received! Even if it’s just an idiots guide
to checking the mail configuration that would be a help. Thanks!

 * If they were working and no longer work, then think about what else changed at
the time. Anything? any new plugins? etc.
 * I’d also check with your web host that php mail is configured and working correctly.

 * There haven’t been any new plug-ins as far as I know, and no changes of web host
or anything like that. But I’ll check the configuration of our php mail with
   our host. Thanks Rich!

 * Turns out i was running php 4 and it wouldn’t support mails, now they upgraded
to five, my own php file that sends email works, but it takes too long to arrive
and then it goes to the spam folder (may be because i’m too newbie in php) anyway,
I didn’t get mails from wordpress after someone comment, would you tell me what
php file from wordpress instalation holds the procedure of sending notification
just so I can work on it ?

 * everything goes through wp_mail which is in wp-includes/pluggable.php
 * not sure where the comment notification is fired from, would have to dig around
   for that.
