# Mail() function

 * Emails are not sent when clicking the lost password link, cformsII won’t send
   emails, all points me to the php.ini file… I installed XAMPP and am using mercury
   mail as my SMTP mail server (it’s a bit confusing and hard to set up, not sure
   it’s even set up right, does anyone know of any good ones?) i’ve changed the [
   mail function] part of my php.ini file, but still no luck.
 * Any ideas?

 * any help would be appreciated, i am not sure i’ve configured the php.ini file
   or the SMTP server properly…

 * windows or linux server? if xampp on windows, I’ve had many problems with it,
   I suggest moving to free linux distro.

 * Ryan, If you read his post, you will see he is “self hosting” on his own server.

 * Bradaz I’m not sure why you included information about SMTP through mercury. 
   If its a linux box sendmail should included as part of your OS with PHP 4/5 loaded.
   Once you tell us your Operating System, we can help your further.
