# Mail Function Troubles

 * I am using XAMPP on a Windows box, and outgoing emails are not working. I installed
   Contact Form 7 (plugin), but I am fairly certain this is a problem with my server,
   not the plugin. I do not have an SMTP server on the box running the web server.
   If necessary, I have the credentials needed for another SMTP server that requires
   SSL.
 * I have seen [http://codex.wordpress.org/Answers-Trouble_Shooting#Emailed_passwords_not_received](http://codex.wordpress.org/Answers-Trouble_Shooting#Emailed_passwords_not_received)
   and attempted to install the ‘fake sendmail’ mail program from glob ([http://glob.com.au/sendmail/](http://glob.com.au/sendmail/))
   but have not gotten it to work. The documentation says to install it at the /
   usr/lib location on the same drive as where the script runs, so I placed it at
   C:\usr\lib\.
 * Any further suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
