Have you set up any Conditions or Email Routing rules under the respective tabs in the Add Email Notification modal?
Do default WordPress emails get sent & received correctly from your site?
Have you checked in spam folder in your email client?
Try installing an email logger plugin (if you don’t already have one) to log emails sent from your site. It can provide valuable insight on what happens with emails outgoing from your site. Here are a couple I’ve used and they work very well:
