    Hello,

I have set my Ivory Search form to only show on mobile devices and not desktop (great feature, by the way). I was pleased to see that there was an option to display only the magnifying icon vs the full search box. However, when I try to tap on the magnifying icon to type in a search word, nothing happens. I currently have it set to sliding search form style.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Also, I just noticed that when Ivory Search is installed, my search box widget in my sidebar menu doesn’t show up. When I temporarily deactivated Ivory Search as a test, my search box widget in my sidebar menu reappeared. Not sure if it’s possible to have both features.

I hope you are well today and thank you for your questions.

I visited your shared site but didn’t see search form in the navigation menu of your site so could you please display it so that I can troubleshoot the issue?

Yes you can use search widget along with Ivory Search.

Please make sure you have not disabled search form or enabled Demo feature in the search form options on the path Ivory Search -> Search Forms -> Options

Also you can use Ivory Search widget to display search form in the sidebar.

    Best regards

Hi Vinod! Thank you for your response!
    1) Silly enough, the search form was disabled unknowingly. I have since fixed that and it is now showing up properly in the header of my blog and the sidebar.
    2) Now that it is showing, is it possible to only show the magnifying icon and the search input box (in the header)? I would like it to look as clean as possible and only in the mobile version, not the desktop version.
    3) I will attach a screenshot of what it looks like in mobile version (except now I can’t figure out how to attach a screenshot). When in mobile version, it seems to double up the input box and the search button. Anyway to fix that?

Sorry for so many questions. I appreciate your patience and your help.

    Glad to hear that.

It is displayed by Emily Belle theme that you are using on your site so to customize its look you have to develop custom CSS code.

If you are not a developer then you can get help for it from https://ivorysearch.com/priority-support/

Please visit the Menu Search plugin options page on your site on the following path and make sure you have not selected any Menu there.

Ivory Search -> Settings -> Menu Search -> Select Menu

In response to number 2 of the last reply: Since I do not have the Premium version of IvorySearch and do not wish to, I am only able to customize the color/style of the search button and magnifying glass by contacting the developer of Emily Belle? Would that explain, then, why inputting other CSS codes found through this forum doesn’t result in any changes on the site?

Also, I’m so sorry to keep popping up questions like this but they just keep coming to mind as I toy around. Is there a setting to only show the title and excerpt of a post in the search results? Right now, when search results are displayed, it shows the entire post.

Ok then please make sure you have disabled the plugin options “Display search form in header on mobile devices” and “This site uses cache” on the following path.

Ivory Search -> Settings -> Settings -> Mobile Display

Yes you have to contact theme developer.

Would that explain, then, why inputting other CSS codes found through this forum doesn’t result in any changes on the site?

Because that CSS is specific to the theme used on those users sites.

Also, I’m so sorry to keep popping up questions like this but they just keep coming to mind as I toy around. Is there a setting to only show the title and excerpt of a post in the search results? Right now, when search results are displayed, it shows the entire post.

The Ivory Search plugin controls search results uniquely using search form but it doesn’t display Search Results page but it is displayed by the theme that you are using on your site. It is generated by search.php file of the theme so you have to change this file to change search results page.
