• We have been running WordPress in a subdirectory of our Magento EE installation for a while. Each Magento store has a respective WordPress Network Site. Each store and network site are served from their own (same) domain.

Example – http://www.tciauto.com (Magento Store), http://www.tciauto.com/news/tc/ (WordPress Network Site)

I am not at all satisfied with this implementation. FishPig is installed and various WP plugins, but we are still in a cumbersome environment.

Luckily, we are in a position to completely start fresh with a new installation of Magento EE. This also means we have some flexibility to restructure the actual installation path of WordPress and the plugins required to handle integration between WP and Mage.

So, my question is, what is the currently accepted way of putting these systems together on the same server?

I would like to keep the code bases as separate as possible. Currently, WP is in a subdirectory (“/news”) of the Magento installation directory. However, I am interested in putting them in separate directories all together and using a server alias to get the traffic back to the WordPress directory.

    Any thoughts?
