In my sidebar I have a widget for featured posts. When viewing the homepage (http://www.ginandlinen.com) the image, below the title of the featured post, is of a certain width such that the teaser excerpt is displayed below the image. This is good.
However, when you click on any of the articles or categories in the menu which brings you to an interior page, the width of the image in the featured post changes. The width of the column does not change, only the width of the image in the featured post – it becomes more narrow. As a result, some of the teaser text is displayed to the right of the image and the rest is displayed below the image. This is bad.
How can I make it so that the teaser text is always displayed below the image, and not to the side, so that it doesn’t matter if the image is resized a little bit.
When viewing the size from a smartphone the same problem occurs. If the image for a given post isn’t of the appropriate width, the teaser text displays both to the right side and below the image. This looks really funny.
The problem is with your image. You have set the image to align left or float left and not cleared the float afterwards, that is causing the text below that to wrap up alongside the image.
The solution would be to remove the align left as there is no need for image aligning left as there is only one image there but if you want to align the image to the left then just place a clearing div after the image.like this: <div style="clear:both"></div>
