Support » Plugin: Etsy Importer » Made Some Updates Happy To Give Them Back

  • I updated the code to put the product SKU’s retrieved from Etsy into the WordPress Meta Data and also retrieve Etsy products by Etsy Listing ID instead of Title so that one product is imported into WordPress for each product in Etsy even if the product Titles in Etsy are identical.

Happy to feed these updates back for inclusion in an updated version if wanted.

  • I also encountered the not setting product post statuses correctly on all the posts, some get set to publish and the rest to draft.

Got to the bottom of this and have fixed that in my code updates as well. The actual logic for updating the statuses was not right and basically it only sets the status correctly on last block of products updated from Etsy to WordPress.

I have rearranged it so it now sets all the posts to draft at the start of the import/update and then sets all the ones still found in Etsy to publish on WordPress as it updates them from Etsy, so by the end of update they are all in the correct state.

If you have a github account at all, the plugin is officially stored over at https://github.com/coreymcollins/Etsy-Product-Importer-for-WordPress and should be able to accept PRs

    Hi

I looked at that code in GitHub, that seems to be for version 1.4.0 of the plugin, the version that I have installed from WordPress.org seems to be 1.4.1, I looked at the other forks in the repository, there is one that it looks like you did that has the 1.4.1 changes in but is now version 1.5.0.

I am not terribly familiar with Git I always avoid it when possible (I don’t want to hear about how wonderful it is 🙂 ) I thought I should make a fork make my changes then create a PR from that but in this scenario I am not sure.

    I have modified 2 files
    etsy-importer.php
    includes/fields.php

Can I just send you those files

michael @ webdevstudios.com should reach me just fine.

Pointers on the line numbers that have been edited would help as well, just for easier change viewing.

I was wondering if this code was ever going to be implemented? I noticed in a different thread you’d stated you don’t plan any updates, but I’d love to have this plug in with these changes.

colinhrt would you be willing to send these two modified files to me? It would save me time and I’d highly appreciate it. Thank you

I’m not sure I ever received the changes in the end either. I’m not seeing anything regarding the topic in my inbox.
