I have just installed wp on a new domain. Everything has gone OK until I login to wp-admin. The dashboard page loads, the menu down the left side loads, but there is nothing else, so I cannot change to the latest version, add new themes etc. I only have the standard wp theme, can’t edit anything at all because nothing loads.

I have other sites and they all seem to be OK, just the new one has a problem.

It seems that others are having this same problem. I posted this topic a bout 24 hours ago, others said they have same problem, but nobody has come up with an answer.

  • Sounds to me like the installation didn’t quite right and you may need to re-install.
I would do that via FTP since your dashboard doesn’t seem to be working.

I see as well, that you said the WP version you installed in 3.3.1? That sounds pretty low to me.

    Thanks for the suggestion Christine,
I have removed the original install and re-installed it with the same result. I used Fantastico de Luxe through cPanel to install. The default WP version is 3.3.1 which is normally upgradable to the current latest version through the dashboard. But as the dashboard is empty apart from the left column links (all of which are active but show the same blank screen( I am unable to upgrade the version nor do anything else.

Hi Christine, the problem is now solved. There was an error in the php somewhere which my host found and fixed. All is OKm now. Thanks for your advice.
