  • Can you be more specific? What doesn’t work exactly? Any error messages?

    Thanks Seniff, that was quick!

    Yes…. After folloing the instructions to edit the wp-config.php doc, the instruction was to then go to my home directory.
    This is where I couldn’t make it to the next step.

    After editing this…

    // ** MySQL settings – You can get this info from your web host ** //
    /** The name of the database for WordPress */
    define(‘DB_NAME’,’Plumbers’);

    /** MySQL database username */
    define(‘DB_USER’,’root’);

    /** MySQL database password */
    define(‘DB_PASSWORD’,’root’);

    /** MySQL hostname */
    define(‘DB_HOST’,’localhost’);

    I could not find the database I created when I went to the local host

    Did you set up your web server on your Mac to point to the folder where all your WordPress files are?

    I think I may have, but not 100% sure, it got a bit back and forthy and its a bit blury now

    I think I should start from scratch again.

    I thought I could create a DB and do it all locally on the mac, but do I need to involve the host where my domain is registered at this point?

    i have theglobalclimatechangemusicproject.info rehosted to ipage.com but the site is not active (i deleted the files in the public_html flder (ouch!)

    Hence a fresh start with something I have more control over myself (non-web developer till today).
    Word press sounded like a good start!
