 * I’m using a Mac with OS 10.4.11 and using MAMP with the following versions: Apache/
2.0.63 (Unix) PHP/5.2.11 DAV/2, MySQL client version: 5.1.37 and phpMyAdmin Version
3.2.4. The database setup with this version of phpMyAdmin is different enough
from phpMyAdmin 2.6.0 used in the WordPress online instructions that I’m not
entirely sure I have set up the database correctly. I created a new database ‘
wordpress’ with a user ‘wordpress’ and password, yet every time I attempt the
WordPress install, I get ‘Error in establishing database connection’ whether
I create the config file manually or let it generate it. I even tried the hint
to reset the MySQL password via an SQL query.
What am I missing here? Thanks.
