Mac install: “error connecting…”

    Hello:

    I followed the codex word for word (the detailed version since I’m brand new at this)…installed wordpress as a subdirectory in my domain, updated config.php to actual database connections, etc….everything went smooth until trying to run install script. “Error connecting to database” appears. I checked my config and everything seems to be perfect. Anybody know what’s wrong?

    Re-check your database info. It may be mis-named.

    Ok, I’ve finally solved my problem and everything seems to be working fine. What I’d done wrong was replace the “DB_NAME” etc. with my corresponding data instead of the other part (“wordpress,” “username,” etc.). Duh, I know. Well I told you I was brand new to this stuff. Gotta start somewhere, right…lates
