You most certainly can 🙂
Many of the coders use Macs.
I believe one of the browsers (Safari ?) has a glitch with some tiny bit of the css but otherwise it’s all very good.
podz is right! you definitely can use it on a mac…
safari has problems with wordPress when you try to edit or post entries. use firefox instead – it works flawless!
there is also a widget if you have Tiger that allows you to update your blog directly from the dashboard. can’t remember what it’s called exactly but a quick google should find it. personally, i haven’t had any problems using safari with wordpress.

The only documented problem with WordPress and Safari is the lack of quicktag buttons in the writing/editing interface. An explanation and work-around can be found here: http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#Why_can.27t_I_see_the_Quicktag_buttons_when_using_Apple.27s_Safari_browser.3F
As for basic installation and usage, follow the installation guide, use Cyberduck as your FTP client, use either Safari or Firefox as your browser, and visit First Steps With WordPress once you have completed the installation.
And, if you ever wanted to install WordPress locally on your Mac (IOW, use your Mac as your server), just follow this tutorial: http://maczealots.com/tutorials/wordpress/
