  • Currently if I use <!–more–> quicktag, it will show as /archives/2006/04/14/easier-way-to-remote-control-mac-via-apple-remote-desktop/#more-183

    Is it possible for me to remove #more-183?
    Where should I edit in order to not have #more-999 in future when I use the <!–more–> quicktag?

  • You’ll have to edit template-functions-post.php (in the wp-includes/ directory). In there you’ll find the get_the_content() function.

    With WordPress 2.0.2, line 92 where you want to make your changes:

    $output .= ' <a href="'. get_permalink() . "#more-$id\">$more_link_text</a>";

    Just edit it down to:

    $output .= ' <a href="'. get_permalink() . "\">$more_link_text</a>";

    Source editing note: Back up files before editing and comment your changes for future reference.

    Thanks, it worked ! 🙂
