Okay I rolled back to 2.02 and all is fine.
Guys, you really, really should test things properly before you roll changes out. This caused me a hell of a lot of pain and worry… Even if its free you shouldn’t do that to people…
Kind regards
Robert
I am also experiencing very blurry images, using Lightbox Gallery. The lightbox images are pristine but the thumbnails, no matter what width I make them are, as Robert said, low-resolution and quite low quality (blurry). How do I access 2.02?
I also rolled back to 2.02. Much better thumbnail crispness, like night and day. However, now my license is not recognized. Can I be sent the correct 2.02 zip file? I also emailed support.
Yes, the filename is the issue, and example for me:
/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/floating_helmets_variation78-149×300.jpg
When adjusted to remove the -149×300, the thumbnail looks good.
Seems like the thumbnails are forced to this size then displayed at a larger size — width of 275px blown up from 149px, which explains the blurry/low quality/low-rez effect.
This is a show-stopping issue.

Hey Silverliebt
So happy someone else can demonstrate this issue.
Hard to believe is wasn’t picked up during testing.
Just out of interest what is the correct method of rolling back a plug-in (to the previous version) so that you do not loose all your config data for the gallery – e.g the image name, description and links etc… I just downloaded the 2.02 .zip and started from scratch (reinstalled the plug-in) but lost some of my gallery data.
Hope HugeIT fix this soon, and most all, tell us what the problem is…
Regards
Robert

Thanks again
Thanks HugeIT
Look forward to it.
Can you give us idea where the problem lays and how it got missed in testing?
Thanks
Robert
I was able to retain my data in rolling back, but not the license, so of course the settings were not as I had configured them. But the galleries did show up ok. Not having a license is proving an issue though, and I have contacted support several times to obtain a 2.02 licensed zip. Thanks for the update — very grateful — and looking forward to 2.04 with clean thumnails. I am really enjoying, on a positive note, the gallery building full size preview of images — something that is not the case, for instance, in NextGen Gallery. It shows you exactly which image you are working with when building a gallery and reduces squinting. Good UX there. Good luck and solidarity @robertgrimley. Thanks @support-huge-it !
Hi @silverliebt
What was the exact detailed method you used to roll back?
Thanks
Rob
Dear Rob you may roll back from here https://wordpress.org/plugins/gallery-images/developers/
The @silverliebt rolled back while having a pro license, this way lost the license, so for you, dear @silverliebt we have sent correct licensed version by email
Hi
Yes I got the file okay, I just want to know what the correct procedure is for rolling back so you don’t loose any data etc…
Regards
Robert
I disabled then deleted the plugin. Then I installed the 2.02 and my galleries were still there. The same with the paid version. I disabled again, deleted again and just now installed the paid version. All the galleries were still there. There is a warning that should be updated upon delete that mentions loss of data I believe.
2.04 has fixed it. Thank you.
Robert
Dear @robertgrimley may I kindly ask you to pin this topic as “resolved”, and if you like the plugin now you can leave a few words in review page https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/gallery-images/reviews/
